From Assisi to Spoleto, our small women’s groups walk each day, with intermittent rest and cultural immersion activities.
Our luggage follows us, we enjoy comfortable accommodations, and our Italian and English speaking guide is there to help.
We set intentions, engage in meaningful dialogue, and journal. More than just a vacation, we think about where we’ve been and where we’re headed.
Whether we enjoy a cooking class in a local’s home, taste wine at a rural cantina, or tour a medieval church, we do it with curiosity and joy.
Best enjoyed in the spring, early summer, and fall

We meet up to celebrate the start of our epic journey in the beautiful town of Assisi, the birthplace of St. Francis! After checking into our hotel (with an optional nap for those who need it), we’ll gather in the late afternoon for a small group travel experience as we tour the Basilica of St. Francis, recognized as a UNESCO heritage site. After exploring the upper and lower churches, we’ll visit the crypt to see St. Francis's tomb.
During our welcome dinner, we’ll enjoy regional Umbrian food—think grilled meats, homemade pasta, and local wine—while sharing our intentions for this journey of cultural immersion. My top intention, of course, is to indulge in gelato every day!
After a coffee and pastry stop, we'll embark on a small group travel adventure, taking the lower route with gentle hills as we traverse through olive groves and pastures, enjoying sweeping views of the valley, basilicas, and local shrines—perfect for cultural immersion. After lunch on your own and settling into your hotel (or exploring the fascinating city walls and Roman ruins), we'll gather for dinner to reflect on our first day together, enriching our travel planning for the days ahead.
After an hour's walk through farm country, we will engage in cultural immersion as we enter Foligno, a town that lost much of its city during the bombing in World War II but has since recreated a beautiful city center. We'll stop by the Sant' Eraclio Castle (and maybe enjoy some gelato?) before we journey back to the olive groves and start the steady climb to the hilltop town of Trevi—an ideal stop for small group travel enthusiasts during their travel planning.
With city walls that date back to the 1st century BC, Trevi offers a unique cultural immersion with its twenty historic churches perched on a hilltop, providing stunning views of the gorgeous Spoletto valley. Heralded as the olive oil capital of Umbria, our small group travel experience will include a delightful day of wine and olive oil tastings, alongside free time for shopping and exploring the beautiful town, all culminating in a dinner on your own as part of your travel planning.
Hilly and incredibly scenic, our small group travel adventure will take us past olive groves, monasteries, caves, and castles. We'll pause for a cultural immersion experience by visiting a monastery on our way to Poreta, where we'll enjoy a night in a charming bed and breakfast.
For those interested in travel planning, you can take an optional 4-mile roundtrip stroll to the crystal springs in the late afternoon, or simply put your feet up and enjoy the view with a glass of wine.
We'll hike uphill, passing more castles through the old Roman settlement in Eggi, where we'll stop for a cultural immersion at the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie to enjoy the magnificent frescoes before reaching our final destination of Spoleto.
With an incredible fortress, aqueducts, and a first-class piazza, Spoleto is a place to stay a while and immerse ourselves in its rich history. After checking into our hotel & spa, we'll celebrate our small group travel experience with a dinner out— we made it!
Our final full day offers a delightful array of choices for cultural immersion, perfect for small group travel. You can choose from a spa day at our hotel, participate in a pasta and pizza making class in the countryside, or embark on a walking tour that includes fascinating Roman temple ruins, the impressive Rocca Alboroziana fortress, and the iconic Ponte delle Torri arched bridge and aqueduct. This day is designed for enjoyable travel planning tailored to your preferences.
We'll enjoy a lovely final breakfast before we depart on our small group travel adventure! Whether you choose to continue your cultural immersion in Umbria and Tuscany or opt for our convenient travel planning to set up your transfers to Florence or Rome, we’ll ensure your experience is memorable. Arrivederci amici. Until we meet again.
